Online Giving

Why online giving?

1) For the simple reason that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6).

2) Because our money handling paradigms have shifted to online management. Online giving is one more way to help facilitate “cheerful giving”.

3) Because generosity is a vital characteristic of the Christian life.

When we lack generosity, money takes controls of our lives and becomes destructive. The bible tells us that the love of money is the root of every kind of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Money is the #1 cause of marital problems often leading to divorce. Money is also one of the greatest sources of stress in our society. However, when we use money God’s way it becomes a tool of a generous life.  We can use it to help connect people to God and each other.  It can become a blessing and a source of contentment.

Generosity is:

  • A Reflection of your heart. Matthew 6:19-20

  • A privilege. 2 Corinthians 8:2-4,7

  • Faith in action. Acts 4:32-35

FAQ's:

WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO?

We can accomplish more together than we can alone.  It’s amazing what the church can do when we come together. Every dollar given is spent on direct ministry to people in Riverton: supporting the ministries of NAC, staffing our church, and maintaining our facility. We are a generous church that wants to give tangible examples of the love of Christ. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

WAYS TO GIVE:

There are three ways to give...online, in a church service, or postal service.

TAKING STEPS WITH YOUR FINANCES:

Start giving regularly: Stay faithful and consistent with an automatic recurring schedule. Create an account and start online giving.

Be a percentage giver: The bible refers to 10% as a target for giving (it’s called tithing). More than 50% of all regular church goers give nothing. If every attendee gave just 3-4% of their income, our church impact would more than double. If you’ve never given before, start low, work your way up and give something regularly. If you’re already tithing, stay the course and watch God honor your sacrifice.

Make a year end gift: Special one-time, year-end gifts can be a symbolic response of a renewed focus and commitment. This faithful act changes the giver from the inside out. Split your holiday budget between buying presents and making a special offering.

Pray through these probing questions:

  • What am I doing to teach my family about the joy of generosity?  Where in my life am I rich in the things money can’t buy?

  • If today were my last day, would I be happy with the legacy my financial choices leave?

  • What’s one thing I can do today to live with a generous heart?  Where have I seen the generosity of others directly affect my life?

  • Although I might not be chasing money, are there areas of my life where I hold onto and give it more importance than it deserves?

IS ONLINE GIVING SECURE?

Yes, all account information you enter is secure. Our payment process uses a secure 128bit encryption process. No one has access to your data unless authorized by you.

ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN CHARGES FOR FEES?

No. You select the dollar amount for your gift. That is the dollar amount that will be recognized as your donation. You will incur no costs or fees.

WHAT IS A CONTRIBUTION SCHEDULE?

This is similar to a subscription. You can choose how often you would like an automatic donation to be made – one-time, weekly, every two weeks or monthly.

WHY DO I HAVE TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT AND PASSWORD?

Setting up an account with a password allows you to enter the secure area of the web site for your transaction. Once your account and password are established, all of your personal information (including account numbers) is safe and protected.

CAN I DESIGNATE MY GIFT TO A SPECIFIC DEPARTMENT OR MINISTRY?

Every dollar given to our General Fund is used to support the overall mission of the church. Other ministries available for online giving will be listed under the "Choose a Fund" drop down on the site (i.e. missions).

WHAT IF I WANT TO GIVE TO A DEPARTMENT OR MINISTRY NOT LISTED ON THE SITE?

There are several other ways you are able to give to specific church ministries. Of course there is Sunday morning when the offering plate is passed, the postal service, or you may drop off your gift anytime at the church office. Please be sure to clearly designate where you would like your gift directed.

CAN I POST A RECURRING DONATION TO BOTH THE GENERAL FUND AND A SPECIFIC FUND?

Yes. You just create two contribution schedules – one for your general giving and one for as many other funds as you like.

WHEN IS THE CONTRIBUTION CHARGED TO MY CHECKING ACCOUNT OR DEBIT CARD?

Transactions usually take 2-3 business days, so contributions scheduled on Friday through Sunday may not show up on your account until early the following week.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE MY ONLINE GIVING OR STOP IT?

At any time you can log into the system with your account name and password and make changes. From the online giving window, select "View History" to view the contribution schedule.

IF I SIGN UP FOR ONLINE GIVING ARE YOU GOING TO EMAIL ME ALL THE TIME?

No! We won't bury you with unwanted email or pester you to give more.
